There is so much to do on Long Island for those who are bored at home and cannot think of things to do. They can go out and make memories with family and friends. Here’s the list of what you can do this fall!
Pumpkin Picking
For starters, Pumpkin picking is a fun way to get out of the house and hit up some awesome Long Island locations. For instance, Harbes Family Farm located in Mattituck, Riverhead, and Jamesport. Is an affordable and driveable location with eight acres of pumpkins to choose from! Join the Harbes Farm for the grand seasonal opening of the Barnyard Pumpkin patch during Harbe’s Annual Pumpkin Harvest, where you can enjoy pig racing, live music, food stands and more. Enjoy munching on delicious food like apple cider donuts, ice cream, lemonades and more.
Apple Picking
Secondly, the weather is the perfect condition for some apple picking! Try out the Lewin Farm, for U-Pick Apple Orchard located in Calverton. The Lewin Farm has a few rules that should be followed such as no pets allowed and pick at your own risk, they are an open field that contains natural environmental factors like weeds, stumps, mud, branches, vines, bugs etc.

Lewin Farm has a large variety of apples to choose from such as Cosmic Crisp, Fuji, Granny Smith and more! The Lewin Farm apples are able to be used as an amazing baking ingredient for baked goods such as apple pies, so after you’re done picking apples, you can go home and get to baking!
Haunted House
The month of October is mainly focused on the holiday Halloween, which means clowns, spiders, and chainsaws. A fun Haunted House spot on Long Island is Halloween House located in Hicksville, New York.
