There are a lot of games out there with different mechanics, stories, and genres, so there’s always something for everyone. But what if you couldn’t pick a game? I took the liberty to ask my friend what five games they would suggest/recommend. He has played his fair share of games, and from what I’ve seen, he is one of the best at any game he touches. He may not be a pro but he definitely can get the hang of one’s mechanics no matter how vastly different they might be.
Here are the games he suggested, along with mechanics, genres and story of each game.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
The first game he has suggested is A Plague Tale: Requiem, because it has a beautiful story revolving around two siblings. You can play the game on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. According to the article by twinfinite, A Plague Tale: Requiem starts six months after the first game (A Plague Tale: Innocence). The two main characters are named Amicia and Hugo. The two siblings are trying to find a cure for Hugo’s disease, while located in southern France, running from soldiers and rats that are spreading the black plague. The game is a single player stealth action adventure.
BioShock Infinite
Second game he suggested is BioShock Infinite. He says it has such a great story that is sad, but shows the beauty of chaos, and the story can really fit people being the odd one out. It has great gameplay. You can play the game on PC, Switch, Playstation, and Xbox. The game is a single player, first person shooter.
Far Cry 5
The third game he suggested is Far Cry 5. It’s a great game if you love running around and causing chaos everywhere you go trying to get rid of a corrupt leader. You can play this game on PC, Playstation, and Xbox. In the game, you are a “unnamed junior deputy sheriff, located in a fictional region of Montana called Hope County, where you are tasked to take down a cult and its leader, Joseph Seed.” The game is a first person shooter, it is single player, but can be multiplayer.
Castle Crashers
The fourth game he has suggested is Castle Crashers. It’s a great party game you can play with your family and friends. It has a lot of vibrant colors and has wonderful gameplay. You can play this game on PC, Switch, Playstation, and Xbox. The game is a 2D action role playing hack and slash. Castle Crashers can be played single player, but it’s better to play with friends or family. The story is pretty straightforward – you have to save four princesses and retrieve stolen gems, and encounter and fight multiple different enemies until you make it to the final showdown.
For Honor
The fifth game he’s suggested is For Honor. If you want to be a medieval warrior such as a knight, samurai, or even a viking, there’s tons of choices. He highly recommends it if you’re into sick fights and cool effects. There are multiple game modes you can choose from such as
- Dominion: There is two teams of four. You fight the other team to capture and hold zones for points. Once you have reached a set number of points, the other team starts to break meaning you can now eliminate them permanently. If you kill all four you win.
- Elimination: A four on four versus mode you must kill the other team. Best out of 5 wins.
- Brawl: A two on two versus mode. You and your teammate must kill the other team to win the round. Best out of five wins.
- Duel: A one on one versus mode. First to kill the other wins. Best out of five wins.
There are many more modes to choose from but these seem to be the most played. You can play this game on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The game is a fighting and action multiplayer with a story that can be played single player or with a friend.
