Stanley’s Bakery, Since 1948 just celebrated their 75th anniversary and is still going strong. Many people come from all over to get a treat from Stanley’s bakery – donuts, cakes, bread, and more!
Stanley’s has everything you can think of. Although Stanley’s is a German bakery, it still sells your normal bakery treats like cannolis and your classic rainbow cookies. They also have things you may have not tried before like German chocolate cake, pfeffernüsse – spice cookies mainly made around Christmas, stollen – a fruit bread made with dried fruit, Schweineohren or “elephant ears” – swirled puff pastry dipped in chocolate, German butter cake and much more. All day fresh buns and pastries are made to serve and they even have egg sandwiches from 6am to noon.
If you have a birthday you can custom order a cake from Stanley’s any way you would like or buy the normal 7″ birthday cakes they have in store. When you customize a cake Stanley’s has a wide selection of different types of cakes, fillings, and toppings. By calling ahead or going onto their instagram and clicking the link you can place a cake order. Here’s the link: Order a cake from Stanley’s!
Stanley’s isn’t just a place to buy pastries, it’s a community for some people. Stanley’s is in their morning routine whether it’s stopping for a bun or to get their coffee. It’s also a big part of the community because it gives a lot of young people in the community a job. When most teenagers are looking for a job they look for something local and Stanley’s has been the place, especially for many high schoolers. The job is a great learning experience for most, whenever you walk into Stanley’s there is always a smile on the employees’ faces.
The Owner, Andrew Lorch, comes to work everyday to run his bakery and having the opportunity to continue his family tradition is important to him.
“It’s part of my family history and heritage, our family has been owning and operating bakeries since the mid 1950’s. It’s something I take a lot of pride in to be able to be a part of many family celebrations throughout the years whether it’s birthdays or holidays.”
