Autumn. It’s the time of year everyone waits for. It might be because of the orange and red leaves or the pumpkin spice smell or the spooky month of October. No matter the feeling, there is a movie to match it. Here are the top 5 movies that get you in the fall spirit.

Coraline (2009)

A 11 year old girl with dark blue hair who’s unhappy about moving goes into an alternative universe with perfect parents and a perfect life. There is a weird door in her house that leads her into the same house in another world. The characters in the other universe are weird and have buttons in their eyes. It’s a perfect fall movie because it fits in with the spooky and eerie vibe that goes along with Halloween.

Little Women (2019)

A movie that follows the lives of 4 sisters during the civil war and takes place in Boston. They all have different views and different dreams. It shows the personal growth each of them had and the reality of growing up and branching away from your siblings. Little women give you that cozy nostalgic vibes. There is also a very fall setting that is perfect for a comfy blanket while you lay in bed.

Coco (2017)

A boy who loves music gets thrown into the land of the dead. He idolizes Ernesto de la Cruz – a famous singer – who he thinks is his great grandfather. He soon figures out when he’s in the land of the dead why his family is so against music. Throughout the movie colors of fall are shown many times. It’s a great movie to watch with family and still fill the festive feelings of autumn.

To All the Boys I Loved Before (2018) 

A 16 year old girl who likes the idea of love but doesn’t necessarily want it. She loves reading about it and writing love letters. Until she’s asked by one of the boys she wrote a love letter to if they could fake a relationship to make his ex-gf jealous. The movie starts up in the fall and as their love story continues the seasons change. It’s a classical teen romance movie and comforting for the cold season coming up.

Casper (1995)

An afterlife therapist and his daughter move into a mansion to remove bad spirits in the house. They soon realize that there is one friendly ghost in the bunch of spirits, his name is Casper and he just wants a companion, which later becomes therapist’s daughter Kat. They slowly develop a friendship and she tries to help him become a human. It is perfect for fall because it gives you a friendly spooky vibe. Which is perfect for this season.
